Drilling sheet-metal parts

Drilling holes in sheet metal at precisely the right position makes it much easier to fit and assemble your end product! You’ll save a lot of time when you let us supply the sheet-metal parts with (pre-drilled) holes. In addition to laser cutting and CNC pressing, we will also drill holes for you.

Drilling or cutting holes?

Our drilling equipment allows us to drill through holes, threaded holes or blind holes. We can also countersink holes so you can fit your sheet-metal parts with countersunk bolts. We also laser cut complex contours. We prefer to cut holes at the precise positions during the laser cutting process, as this saves on further drilling!

If we are unable to cut the holes, for example because they have a smaller diameter than is achievable for the laser cutting machine in the chosen plate thickness, then we make a mark at the precise position. This makes it easier to drill and tap the holes at the precise position later on.

Smart construction from sheet metal

We aim to create a high-quality and affordable semi-finished product with as fast a turnaround time and as little processing as possible. That’s why we automate our production processes and continually make them more efficient. In addition, further gains are made through smart construction and engineering. Fitting and assembly become a lot easier when smart connections are created between the different parts. And that drives down your production and material costs. So which connection should you choose for your sheet-metal work? Options include the following:

  • Blind rivets
  • Self-clinching nuts
  • Tox fasteners
  • Screw thread distortion
  • Tab and slot connection
  • Bending lug connection
  • Flow drilling

Drilling – how do we do it?

Preparation is essential to effective drilling operations:

  • Choosing the right drill (technique) for the plate thickness and material
  •  If necessary, pre-drill the holes
  • If necessary, cool during drilling
  • Always drill with a sharp drill bit, as indicated by smooth, even swarf curls

Reaming: A perfectly round bore

When high precision is required, a reamer is the perfect solution for machining a drill hole. The reamer accurately removes excess material, and makes it possible to create a perfectly round hole. To ensure the hole in the sheet metal is precisely the right diameter, it is important to first drill with the correct pre-drill size.

Short lead time for sheet-metal work with drilled and tapped holes

We know your time is scarce. Thanks to an efficient and advanced automated work process, we keep our lead times short. This means we deliver quickly, so that your process continues without disruption. And this is especially true when the job includes 3D STEP files or semi-finished products that we have fabricated for you previously.

The benefits of having us drill your sheet-metal parts

Stainless steel – our specialist flexible machining process

Not only are our machines and software a key part of our stainless-steel specialism, but our employees are also an indispensable factor in our success. Whatever end product you use our specialism for, we are happy to make our craftsmanship part of your process.

Flexible machining process

You are the specialist in the end product you develop. We have the knowledge and resources to ensure the optimal manufacturing process of the stainless-steel semi-finished products that are essential to making your end product successful. Do you only want to receive a laser cut part? Or do you need a fully assembled and welded construction? You choose exactly how much of the creative process you leave to us. This makes us your specialised and efficient external workshop.

Fewer operations as well as less material!

Achieving the right end product with fewer operations through smart engineering from sheet metal. We use intelligent software to check producibility and control production automatically. This enables us to produce cutting and bending parts precisely to size, saving machining time and material.
